Healthy green tea is a large provider of polyphenols, which are antioxidants . These have interchangeable wellbeing properties to vitamin C. Healthy Chinese tea contain multiple main polyphenols, while the most found chemical is epigallocatechin gallate, commonly referred to as EGCG. This is the most common part of green tea.

Healthy green tea also contains caffeine, a major stimulant, although in much smaller quantities than can be found in other teas or in coffee.
